Happy birthday, Lu. I was going to tell you to stay out of trouble, but all things considered (*ahem*Hilde*cough*), somehow I think that would be rather like asking cats not to purr. *grins*

Happy birthday, Hilde. Enjoy celebrating, and try not to get into too much trouble. *pauses* You do have a chaperone and someone to call for bail, right? *grins and winks*

Standing back and looking at things logically, I know my feelings make no sense. They're completely irrational, all things considered. It was a long time ago, and we've all changed since then. I'm sure she's genuinely sorry that she almost killed Quatre once, or at least as close to genuinely sorry as she ever gets.

That said, she almost killed Quatre. Logic and rationality be hanged. That woman just plain irritates me, and I refuse to be bullied into justifying myself on the matter.

At Quatre's behest...

Ask me a question - anything about me or my life - and I will give you an honest answer. I'm going to change this year's quiz a bit and allow any sort of question, though if it's completely tasteless and asked only for the shock factor rather than a genuine enquiry, I reserve the right to not answer.

Be patient with me in regard to replies - I'll make every attempt to get to them in the morning. For now, though, I need to get some sleep. Either Quatre brought home a cold virus from the office, or I brought it home from the Center. Apparently Mardi Gras is bad for the immune system.

I know a few of you are curious about our trip to Mardi Gras in New Orelans, or more specifically, if Duo was successful in his attempts to get Quatre into trouble. As it turned out, Quatre didn't really need Duo to get him arrested - he managed quite nicely by himself.Collapse )

He's getting it back.Collapse )

I know when he's getting it back, and I know where he's getting it back, but if anyone has suggestions as to how to accessorize him or who his companion should be, I'm open to hearing them. *grins*

I need rather immediate help from someone more knowledgable than I am about these matters, as I clearly appear to be in over my head. Three questions:

1. Exactly how much salt is in a 'pinch'?
2. What part of the lemon does one extract the 'zest' from?
3. How in the world does one separate an egg yolk from an egg white without frying the egg and cutting it apart?

Now if you all will excuse me for a few minutes, I need to go to the market and get more eggs, as all previous attempts at #3 have ended in miserable failure.

There isn't a day that goes by that I am not thankful for you. You bring the better part of me out, you give it hope and voice, you sustain it and make it thrive. With you by my side, anything is possible - without you, nothing would be worthwhile.

Happy birthday, Quatre - I love you, forever and then some.

Cathy and I arrived in Cinque late Wednesday evening...finally. As is always the case with traveling shows, each trip has the potential for adventure. This particular adventure involved the transports for the entire troupe being made to circle the shuttle port for seven hours before being allowed to land. Something about not getting all the paperwork filed for transporting large animals. *shakes head*

At any rate, we're here, we're safe, and we're approved by the Cinque Kingdom Agriculture and Wildlife Safety Department.

Needless to say, I was quite pleased to see Lu's gift to Quatre when we finally got settled. It's not the original, of course - that's in a museum, where it belongs. This one is a copy, done by the artist. With a quick net search, I learned that it was made for a friend and collector of Duchamp's. The museum that owns the original once owned this one as well, but sold it at auction in AC170. It was purchased by one of the old Romefeller families. From there it ended up in Treize's possession, and he passed it on Zechs, who gave it to Lu. It's beautiful, either way - original or no. This is one of my favorite paintings. And Lu? It's not going in Quatre's office - not if I have anything to say about it. We're keeping it at home. *smiles* Thank you.

It's likely I won't have any time later to say this, as we're already starting to set the tents up for tonights performance, so I'd like to wish you all a happy new year - may the coming year bring the best to all of you.
